Now that the costume parties are behind us, it's time to turn our attention to the next holidays that will end the year. Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Years. As has become another American tradition, shopping on Black Friday can net you some great loot at amazing prices. Retailers are in heavy competition, with lower and lower ticket prices every year. We've rounded up some of the best doorbusters and deals for this year, so far.

Make Your Home Smarter

If you haven't yet supplied your home with a smart assistant, or you're looking to add a little more Alexa to your casa, there's never been a better time to buy. The Amazon Echo family has grown substantially since the Echo's debut a few years ago. There's now a range of devices for different needs. While Amazon itself hasn't announced a sale on the Echo, as of this writing, there are some other places that have.

With a doorbuster deal on both the Echo and Echo Dot, Kohl's will have a limited supply of Alexa in two different flavors. The Echo second generation will run you just $69, a $30 savings, while the dot will sell at $24, more than 50% off.

Making Magic

For the little builder in your life (or, not so little builder. We don't judge.), who may have the desire to make a little magic this year, we turn to Walmart. Wally World will be bringing the magic of Hogwart's to their sale with bargains on Lego sets from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Build your own school of witchcraft and wizardry for under $100.

Increase Your Size

It's not what's on the screen, but how big the screen is, right? If you've been putting off adding a few extra inches to your viewing experience, this may be the year to take the plunge. After all, this is America, and anything less than 55" is unacceptable. Target will be the doorbuster to look for, with an Element 55" 4K UHD screen at under $200.

In the eternal debate of dogs vs cats vs fish, there can be no clear winner. What is for certain, though, is that shopping at PetCo on Black Friday will supply your four-legged (or finned) family member with some great goodies. Especially if you have a Pal Rewards membership. A significant amount of the store is 50% for rewards members. Also, there are free antlers.

If you're a business owner, and you're getting ready to close out a good year, maybe it's time to finally treat yourself to a little something. That old Toshiba from 2002 may just not be cutting it anymore. We know, you've been through a lot together, but it's time to be practical and productive.
